Tombel: Mrs. Rose Ngassa Installed as Mayor
Tombel, Kupe-Manenguba chief town. Mrs. Rose Ngassa was commissioned into office on September 28 by the Senior Divisional Officer (SDO), Mr. Eboue Njume.
In his installation speech, Mr. Eboue Njume called on the mayor to make use of her collaborators for the development of Tombel. Mrs. Ngassa Rose will henceforth represent the municipality in all civil matters: establishing birth, death, marriage certificates, as well as directing projects and awarding contracts. She was further implored to prioritize the infrastructural projects in the municipality from maintenance of roads, erection of Schools, Public Libraries, Health Centres and Markets. Other priorities also mentioned included the installation of pipe borne water and improving the level of sanitation and hygiene in the municipality.

The newly elected Mayor was enjoined to use her colleagues in generating income for the council, while the population was called upon to pay their taxes and always remain positive. Responding, the Mayor promised to continue where her predecessor left off. She promised that the roads will soon be graded, yet she will give priority to the water project.
Mrs. Rose Ngassa is the only female mayor from the English speaking region of Cameroon. She was installed alongside her four deputies: Johnson Esambe, Gilbert Nkwelle Nzume, Peter Mesumbe Ngalame and Agnes Ewane.
